 "Flimsy, poor-quality toy." 2004-12-19
By Lyanne M. Tunnell
We bought this toy and another from the Spiderman and Friends series for our four-year old twins' birthday. Unfortunately, the toy never woeked even out of the package as the tentacles don't turn as described. The toy also isn't painted well: there are green splotches of paint in the orange areas and the paint job looks sloppy. Both Spiderman and Friends toys we have are very flimsy, especially compared to the much sturdier Rescue Heroes toys. The backpacks don't stay on properly and my boys have already tossed the toys aside as it's too frustrating to try and play with them.

 "Great For Toddlers" 2004-12-14
By L. Geissinger (Northwest Ohio)
My 2 1/2 year old son totally loves Spider-Man. These are great for him because since he is very little and doesn't have that great of finger control he has trouble setting up some action figures. This series is made for a kid his age. They have big feet and not a whole lot of moving joints (just hips, shoulders and neck). He loves this series!!

Spider-Man & Friends My First Spider-Man Double Web Shooter

Product Description

This durable spider-man figure comes with 2 projectile-launching webs and has a lot of fun electronic sounds! With light-up eyes, spider-man is here to save the day!

This toy is really cute and was deeply discounted for clearance, so I ordered it for a 3 year old Spiderman Fan. I was disappointed in the web-slinging action. My daughter couldn't care less was napping with it the first day.

You press a button in the back that raises the arms and releases the webs. The mechanics and location of the button make it tough to push. The spring loaded webs barely clear Spidey's wrists before tumbling to the floor. He also says cute things, but the batteries were dead when I received mine.

She loves it, I can't figure out how a product gets through design meetings, production phases and into thousands of retail stores without anyone realizing that it doesn't really work all that well.

My three year old son really likes this toy. It's a good size for him to carry around. It shoots the webs, but that requires a little more effort than I would like. You have to push relatively hard right in the center of the button on his back. He says a few phrases when he shoots, like "misfire!" It balances easily when you put it on a flat surface too.
